With KORG's Nutube technology, it has become possible to create true tube sound in much less space, with much less power consumption, for much less money, but with the same warmth and character we associate with radio tubes. Here, VOX and Sir Brian May have collaborated to recreate the legend's iconic AC-30 sound, in a form factor that not only sounds right and is ultra-compact, but also oozes charm.
It all starts with the AC-30
When you say the word "guitar amplifier", the image most people get on the retina is probably a VOX AC-30. Since its introduction in 1958, it has been a symbol of rock'n'roll in all its guises, and despite accelerating development and new technologies, there is still something magical and special about the sound spectrum that an AC-30 has at its disposal. It has thus also been Sir Brian May's faithful companion since he started, and it is also the center of his sound.
Therefore, it is also Brian's way of tuning his AC-30 that has formed the basis for the sound that comes out of the MV50-BM. With a combination of VOX's classic virtues and modern technology, we have succeeded in getting very close to Brian's signature sound. This is mainly due to the "Treble Booster" setting, which makes sense as soon as you hear it. There is also an EQ button that adapts the sound to different cabinet types.

With its 50W at 4 Ohm, there is actually a surprising amount of juice and power in this small top amplifier, and while the built-in cabinet simulation makes it ideal for the rehearsal room and the road, the MV50-BM can of course also be connected to a cabinet.
Matching cabinet
With the kit here, you get a custom cabinet that delivers 25W @ 8 Ohm, which is a surprising amount of juice and power, considering the size. The cabinet is equipped with an 8" original VOX unit and is finished in a matching red color.
