This premium "one-up, one-down" kit features full depth and diameter wooden kettles, covered with attractive covers and mounted on double reinforced chrome stands. Roland's advanced digital sensor technology and dynamic TD-27 drum module give you a matched sound and response and ensure that every beat, ghost note, swirl and swell is conveyed to the smallest detail.
The VAD504 builds on the previous VAD503 model and adds a digital hi-hat for even more expression, as well as powerful cymbal stands, a legacy of the flagship VAD706. The TD-27 module has also been updated, bringing you new kits and samples, expanded processing options, Roland Cloud support and more.
An immersive acoustic drumming experience
The VAD504 makes drummers feel right at home with the impressive looks, recognizable layout and playability of a high-end acoustic kit. There is a 14'' stainless steel snare drum and 10'' rack tom, a 14'' floor tom and a 20'' kick drum, constructed in full depth wooden shells, which only adds to the authenticity of the kit and gives you a completely acoustic feel in the plugs. A complete cymbal set includes a 12'' V-Hi-Hat, 14'' crash cymbal (with thin profile and textured surface) and an 18'' ride cymbal for a natural playing and look on stage.
Digital Snare Drum, Ride and Hi-Hat
Roland's groundbreaking digital pad technology is a huge leap forward in electronic drums, giving your sticks unmatched depth and dimension. Precise multi-sensors in the snare, ride and hi-hat pads work in full harmony with the TD-27 module, capturing every nuance with incredible definition and detail. Lightning-fast detection allows you to play all your natural acoustic techniques, such as muting the ride cymbal with the touch of a finger or switching seamlessly between snare drum, rimshot and crossstick on the snare drum. And the VH-14D takes electronic hi-hat playing to new heights, offering touch sensitivity, tonal variety and open/closed resolution.
The natural feel of acoustic drums
Roland's legendary multi-layer, tension-adjustable mesh-heads add considerably to the authentic playing feel and give your sticks rebound that can be adjusted to suit your playing style. And when you hammer the snare drum into the specially designed snare drum, you physically move the air inside the drum, creating air pressure and resistance that feels exactly like playing an acoustic snare drum.

TD-27 module: More sounds, more power
The updated TD-27 module contains 75 preset kits, including 10 brand new kits and new improved versions of the three most popular kits from the original release. New preloaded samples are available to combine with preset kits or your own custom setups. Layering capabilities have been expanded, while parallel compression capabilities and improvements to transient shaping provide even greater sonic control. The module interface has also been improved and faster. And with integrated Roland Cloud content, you can expand your playing experience with a growing selection of sounds, samples and custom kits from top V-Drums artists.
Create (and build) your signature drum kit
With acoustic drums, you create your own sound by replacing the head, adjusting tuning, adding damping, tweaking wire tension, changing the hammer on the kick drum and more. All this is possible with the TD-27 module, where you can create tailor-made kits for any situation. Hit a pad to select it and use the controls and intuitive editing functions to get the sound exactly the way you want it. Your edits are saved automatically so you can always be focused on your game. You can even load your own samples and layer them with the internal sounds to make your kit even more personal.
Double reinforced drum stands in chrome
The VAD504 is equipped with the same heavy-duty racks as the flagship VAD706, delivering high-end performance and true acoustic feel. Tam-pads are mounted like acoustic tams - so they feel just right when played. Newly developed thin V-Cymbals are attached with a special 'pivot mount' for a natural swinging movement when played. And each stand is double-braced for rock-solid stability and easily adjusted to fit your layout.

Use PureAcoustic Ambience Technology to create an incredible and natural soundstage when you play. And go deeper by adjusting the individual drum mics and stereo overheads just as you would with an acoustic kit. Powerful connections for stage and studio
The VAD504 delivers a fantastic sound for live performance or recording, thanks to the many connection options. The TD-27 module has stereo outputs for the overall drum sound as well as two direct outputs so you can send the kick drum and snare and other sounds to a mixer for independent control. In the studio, the built-in USB audio interface makes it easy to produce music on your computer with up to 28 audio tracks through a single cable. MIDI is also supported via USB and dedicated I/O so you can sync with other MIDI devices and trigger sounds in computer software.
Kite expansion made easy
With VAD504 you are not limited to a static setup. By using the TD-27 module's three auxiliary trigger inputs, it's easy to add tambourines and cymbals to your arsenal. Or you can go for the big one and play with two bass drums. Regardless of what you think, auxiliary inputs are the way to your ideal setup on the drums.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Built-in Bluetooth allows you to stream audio from a phone or computer to the module, perfect for jamming with headphones. Play along to backing tracks or with your favorite bands or mix the sound of a YouTube video with your drums. You can even record your performances - with or without backing - to hear where you need to tighten things up.
