PRS "Silver Sky" John Mayer Signature - Maple
The PRS "Silver Sky" is the landmark signature guitar developed by world-renowned Grammy-winning artist John Mayer in collaboration with Paul Reed Smith. A top-quality guitar based on the sound of Mayer's own vintage guitars, which can be heard on countless legendary songs such as "Gravity", "Vultures", "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and many others.
At the same time, the guitar is a further development and improvement that really brings out the character of the instrument that you know from John Mayer's music, and to quote Mayer himself: "...the Silver Sky is my vision of what a reboot of the electric guitar should look and feel like.." .
For most, the Silver Sky will feel like an old friend with the classic setup of a lightweight alder body, sturdy maple neck and a typical 25.5" scale and 7.25" radius. Nice hardware in nickel with steel tremolo, "Vintage Style" locking tuners and saddle in legs, so you get as much as possible of the delicious tone out of the guitar.
The guitar is equipped with three custom 635JM pickups, which are inspired by Mayer's favorite guitars. The 635JMs sound incredibly clear and have the iconic rustic single-coil sound, but also have a remarkable Mid-Scoop, so both bottom and top are really allowed to shine through.
