Black Panther - a modern legend
Since its introduction in the mid-90s, Black Panther snare drums have been synonymous with juice, power, dynamic excess and a growing range of models, each focusing on specific sonic aspects. The name has caught on among everything from hobby musicians to professional world stars, because a Black Panther snare drum compliments any kit and any playing style and genre in a quality that is not a given in a pressured market.
Black Panther Maximus
Maximus is the result of a collaboration between Mapex Design Labs and jazz drummer Jeff Hamilton. The aim has been to combine a classic vintage jazz sound with all the advantages of a modern snare drum. The boiler is made of 8 layers of mahogany, totaling 8.9mm, and there are 4 ventilation holes instead of the usual 3, which improves plug response. Maximus is a very balanced and laid-back snare drum with lots of dynamics.
