XMT stands for "eXpanded Modeling Technology" which has been developed to offer a very wide range of sounds based on analog synthesizers while ensuring simplicity and inspiration in programming. The KingKORG NEO is packed with a wide range of oscillator algorithms to meet the demands for tonal versatility. With everything from classic sawtooth and square curves to more intricate noise curves, it embraces both typical analog designs and KORG's own PCM/DWGS oscillators. Vocoder sorcery
The KingKORG NEO synth is equipped with a balanced XLR input on the front panel and includes a robust, high-quality microphone. This invites you to dive into the world of vocoding. At the heart of the KingKORG NEO's vocoder is a sophisticated 16-band filter that rivals dedicated vocoder machines. It lets you perform classic vocoder tricks, but that's just the beginning. By shifting the filter frequency with the formant shift function and fine-tuning the level and panning of each band, you can open the doors to a variety of unique and original sounds.
But there's more – Timbre B (KingKORG NEO is duo-timbral) can be cleverly used as a modulator, as an alternative to the traditional microphone input. This allows the vocoder effect to be mixed with the synth sound, which in turn opens up endless sonic exploration. Furthermore, each of the three oscillators, as well as the A and B Timbres, can be individually selected as the source for the microphone input. KingKORG NEO features three master effect slots, each offering six different effect types. PRE FX delivers color and edge with effects such as distortion and amp simulator. MOD FX adds classics such as phaser, chorus and tremolo to your sounds. REV/DELAY offers ambient and room-length effects, including reverb and modulating delay. Adjusting and selecting these effects is straightforward, thanks to dedicated front-panel knobs for each effect group, complemented by FX control knobs for detailed fine-tuning.
Virtual Patch function

The oscillator section features a dedicated display that shows the name of the currently selected algorithm. With a light push of the adjacent knob, you can browse through the options, see descriptive names, and quickly jump to different categories like ANALOG or DWGS. The control knobs are strategically placed to facilitate adjustment of the most crucial parameters for each oscillator, making it super easy to shape your sound in real time.
Likewise, each of its three master effects has dedicated effect selection knobs. This setup makes it easy and quick to experiment with different effects and hear the results immediately. And thanks to the ultra-sharp organic EL displays, visual feedback is always crystal clear, whether you're standing in the dark on stage, in bright lights, or in a studio environment.
Favorites - perfect for live performance
The Favorites feature lets you recall frequently used programs with a single button press. You can assign a total of 40 programs to the eight category Favorites buttons for easy and quick recall of the sounds you use in your kit.
