A new era of innovation in guitar synths
The SY-1000 is the most advanced guitar synth we've ever made. Custom DSP delivers six times the processing found in a SY-300 and the newly developed sound engine boosts the possibility of your GK and independent string processing, providing precise performance, lightning-fast response, instant variable tuning, sounbd panning/layering and much more.
Versatile tools for sound design
A standard SY-1000 patch contains three simultaneous instruments - each with a number of distinctive types to choose from - and you can combine and layer them for an endless variety of sounds. Each instrument is powered by 13-pin GK input and provides a wide range of parameters for tone shaping, mixing and tuning. There's also a normal jack connector, which lets you mix regular guitar/bass pickup sounds with the three instruments.
Ultra-dynamic Dynamic Synth
The all-new Dynamic Synth takes guitar synthesis further than ever. GK processing and lightning-fast DSP track your instrument's characteristics with an impressive degree of detail, and make it possible to shape and create completely new sounds. Choose from 10 oscillator waveforms - sine, triangle, PWM, the saw types (including Roland's famous supersaw) and more. Then shape the sound with six different filters, gain control, two LFOs and two powerful step sequencers. Optimum performance is ensured with the GK input, but it is also possible to play Dynamic Synth via the normal guitar/bass input.
Two step sequencers bring sounds to life
After you've shaped a sound with Dynamic Synth, the fun has only just begun - with two step sequencers you can make the sound come alive and move and create complex textures that pulse, breathe and groove. Each sequencer has 16 customizable steps that control pitch, filter and volume independently of each other. And even better, each step contains 13 different envelope curves for previously unheard shaping of sound. And by stacking three Dynamic Synths together, you can build massive soundscapes with three oscillators and six separate step sequencers.
OSC Synth and GR-300
Two additional synth instruments compliment the powerful Dynamic Synth. OSC Synth is an analog-style engine with lots of filter options, full ADSR control and high-definition sound with discrete GK input.
Also included is a perfect recreation of the Roland GR-300, the legendary 1980s analog guitar synth used by some of the world's most significant guitarists.
Advanced Guitar/Bass Modeling and Poly FX
The SY-1000 doesn't just stop at synthesis - it also features new instrument modeling from historic BOSS and Roland GK gear. A wide variety of electric, acoustic and bass guitar types are available, each with independent tuning, EQ, virtual amp setting and more. There is also a highly expressive VIO Guitar instrument that changes the envelope and harmonic characteristics of the input signal, creating sounds reminiscent of bowed instruments.
Last but not least, the cool Poly FX instrument which delivers rich voices with high-res definition is only possible with GK processing.
Flagship-Class Effects and Interface
The SY-1000's signal processing and user interface comes from BOSS' multi-effects flagship GT-1000, praised for its superb audio quality and simple operation. Shape sounds the way you want with a wide range of effects and ultra-responsive guitar and bass amps. Edit instruments and effects quickly, change routings, create parallel chains and more with rotary knobs on the large LCD. And to make your patch workflow even richer, you can save your favorite instrument and effect setups in ready-to-go Variation libraries.
Configurable control
As a starting point, the SY-1000's eight footswitches can select patches, banks and two control assignments. But you can easily and simply reassign them to almost any function you need. There is also a Manual mode for quick on/off access to the three instruments and normal inputs. Up to four external footswitches or two expression pedals and MIDI I/O are supported. The Main and Sub outputs are normally used for mixed stereo signals but can also be configured as four discrete outputs, complete with dedicated EQ on each. And with the removable effects loop you can integrate all your external gear.
Record Tracks and Play MIDI Instruments via USB
The SY-1000's USB audio/MIDI interface opens the door to a world of creative possibilities with your favorite DAW. With GK input, you can record each of your instrument's strings to separate audio tracks, either processed live or recorded completely clean for later "re-synth" processing through the SY-1000. And with Guitar-to-MIDI/Bass-to-MIDI, you can use your Spade to play soft synths, record MIDI sequences, input notation data, and more.
