Enhanced Tube Logic Tones
Tube Logic recreates tube circuits and all their complex interactions at the component level, putting the coveted tone and feel of classic tube amps at your fingertips. Our approach continues to evolve with improvements to the five amp characters available in previous Katana models, including the iconic high-gain Brown type. The new Pushed character highlights internal dynamic enhancements with the pleasant touch-responsive gain of a clean combo driven to harmonic saturation. All six amp characters have selectable variation, giving you 12 distinct tones to support any musical style.
"Sweet Spot" sound at any volume
As any tube amp lover knows, the sound gets richer, fuller, and more responsive when you turn up the volume. Unfortunately, it also gets way too loud for many playing situations. An external power attenuator is a common solution, but it can introduce artifacts that color the tone and feel of the amp. The Katana Gen 3’s integrated Power Control delivers the best of all worlds, letting you get inspired by the high volume without negatively impacting the sound. Simply turn the panel knob to transparently control the level for everything from live playing to daily bedroom jams.

Katana Gen 3 features five simultaneous effects categories packed with essential selections from the historic BOSS library. The Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections offer enhanced sound quality, grab-and-go parameter controls, and three variations each to access 15 unique effects. BOSS Tone Studio opens up even more possibilities, letting you customize the onboard effects from 60 different types and fine-tune deep settings not available from the amp's panel. And with the optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor installed, you can wirelessly edit sounds during the gig using the BTS editor app on your smartphone.

The Katana-50 Gen 3 offers several powerful tools for controlling your sounds. Four Tone Setting memories let you save complete amp/effects setups and recall them with a single touch. And footswitches and an expression pedal let you remotely control memories and control a variety of custom jobs you've set up in BOSS Tone Studio.
Enhance external modeling programs
Along with its standalone operation, the Katana-50 Gen 3 is also a great monitor for an external setup such as a direct-to-PA pedalboard. Simply connect to the Power Amp In jack to bypass the Katana preamp and use the reactive Class AB power section to amplify any modeler or external preamp.
