Finally! By continuous and loud demand, KRONOS is back - refreshed, refined and ready to reclaim its place in the spotlight. With intuitive control, access to over 300 premium sound libraries and a host of exclusive features, the latest KRONOS is designed to redefine what's possible on stage and in the studio.
In addition to the thousands of included Programs and Combi's, the new KRONOS introduces 256 additional Programs, carefully crafted to elevate your musical creativity. Central to this update are 128 brand-new presets, including a stunning Italian piano with a beautiful, transparent resonance and the Tine EP I Early, an electric piano recreation that authentically reproduces the dusty sound that only metal-bar mechanisms can. Along with new FM electric pianos, versatile synth pads, lush leads and more, KRONOS gives you a wide palette of truly useful sounds spanning every genre - from timeless classics to modern chart-topping bangers.
In addition to these, 128 selected sounds from various KRONOS Sound Libraries have also been added. Developed in collaboration with 12 world-class sound designers, these sound programs include the best of the best from their hands, hand-picked to inspire and expand your sonic palette. This selection also includes new piano sounds, ensuring that KRONOS reclaims its place as the ultimate player's keyboard.
KRONOS comes packed with a treasure trove of iconic sounds from the KRONOS Sound Libraries:
Additionally, the KRS-06 and KRS-06B come with CX-3 Signature Sounds – a collaboration between KORG and a select group of top organists – for a total of 256 CX-3 organ programs. This collection of timeless sounds ensures that every performer, from soloist to bandleader, has access to the best that KRONOS has to offer.
The KRONOS control system has been refined over time to deliver a user interface that is as intuitive as it is powerful. Its layout – with eight real-time knobs, nine sliders and a range of performance controls – is pleasantly familiar, helping you focus on your craft and perform intuitively. At the heart of the interface is the large, responsive TouchView display, now faster and more responsive than ever before, providing direct access to vital information and settings. This integrated design ensures that anyone familiar with previous KRONOS models can effortlessly go to war.
While the hallmarks of the KRONOS remain unchanged, this fourth-generation design introduces subtle but welcome updates. The powder-coated metal chassis provides exceptional durability and a premium tactile feel, while the refined black wood side panels add a sophisticated finish. These enhancements ensure that the KRONOS not only performs impeccably, but also makes an elegant statement on any stage.
KRONOS takes performance efficiency to new heights with its significantly improved boot process. Thanks to a newly developed system architecture, boot time is now 60% faster than on previous models, drastically reducing latency. Coupled with an improved TouchView interface, KRONOS delivers unmatched responsiveness, ensuring every interaction feels immediate and intuitive.
KRONOS is more than an instrument – it’s a commitment. Since its introduction in 2011, each new KRONOS has featured significant updates while ensuring compatibility and continuity across generations. KORG’s dedication to long-term support ensures that all KRONOS systems can use the rich and varied KRONOS sound libraries, preserving your investment and enabling seamless upgrades as hardware updates occur.
Two types of pre-loaded data are available for the new model for compatibility with both the KRONOS 1/X and KRONOS 2. Austrian piano, Italian piano, etc., which are not included in the early models, can be purchased separately for these.
KRONOS Sound Libraries have been steadily updated since the first KRONOS was introduced, boasting a lineup of over 300 titles, each with a unique selection. These titles can be purchased separately and used with all KRONOS products. The KRONOS sound engine is designed to cater to any musical genre and be used in a variety of situations by anyone. The KRONOS Sound Libraries allow you to find and purchase your favorite sounds in genres not included at the factory, and customize your KRONOS to your taste and needs. In the KORG Shop (https://korg.shop/sound-libraries/kronos-nautilus.html), you can search for your favorite titles by instrument category (piano, strings, bass, etc.), year of release, price range, and developer name. There are two types of libraries: the EXs library, which includes PCM, and the KRS library, which includes program data only. Each of these libraries also includes demo sounds* and demo videos to help you find the sounds you're looking for. For users who own multiple KRONOS units, this library is also attractive because each unit can be registered with a KORG ID, so a license for one title can be shared by up to three KRONOS** units.
