The evolution of the Brute
Like its predecessors, the PolyBrute is equipped with piles of knobs and switches that provide immediate and creative control over the entire analog signal path.
Each of the 6 voices is packed with sonic possibilities via the 2 "Brute" oscillators with wave shaping, noise generator with several types, the extended Steiner Multi Mode filter, ARTURIA's own take on the classic 24 dB Moog Ladder Filter, 3 LFOs, 3 Envelope Generators, and much more. They all come together in the Matrix where they give you amazing control over the signal path, otherwise only found in modular systems.
Morph or modulate?
Imagine being able to sweep through all the parameters at once. PolyBrute takes the idea a step further by giving each preset an A and a B status. With the A/B Morph button you can now mix fluidly between all parameters on each side, achieving almost endless new timbres. You will inevitably hit combinations you would never have come up with through "traditional" sound design.
Nice pitch and modulation wheels offer familiar control. And both can be assigned multiple parameters. In addition, you will also find a long control strip above the keyboard, which can also be assigned to piles of parameters. But it doesn't stop there. PolyBrute also has the so-called "Morphée" controller, which is a three-dimensional touch plate. Here you can assign patch morph, up to 32 Matrix parameters for each of the three directions, as well as sequencer/arpeggio random generator, etc.
Enter the matrix
Direct access to 768 presets! No menus, no waiting. Just like everything else on the PolyBrute. If the analog signal path is the heart of the PolyBrute, then the matrix is its brain. This is where the magic really comes into play. Exploring sources and destinations has never been easier or more inspiring, and the step sequencer and arpeggiator can also be programmed from here.
In Mods mode, the Matrix grid acts as a digital patchbay, letting you route any modulation source to a wide range of destinations. There are 64 nodes and up to 32 destinations to play with.
In Sequencer mode, the buttons become a rhythmic grid, making it a breeze to build complex sequences of up to 64 steps, which can consist of both notes and continuous parameters.
Polyphony in true stereo
Width is a keyword when it comes to polysynths. Often you have to resort to outboard effects to achieve this, but PolyBrute includes several stereo-focused features that put it in a class of its own. You can control the balance of the stereo image, so that the oscillators are panned left and right to different degrees, depending on the setting. In addition, the two filters can be routed in parallel, so that one is heard on the left, while the other is heard on the right.
Digital effects
As a final touch, the PolyBrute is equipped with a range of very high quality digital effects. Many of these are taken directly from ARTURIA's award-winning FX-Collection software, and they are all optimized for the PolyBrute's stereo modulation capabilities. Many of the parameters can be accessed from the matrix, allowing you to build dynamic effects control into your sounds.
