It all starts with the AC-30...

When you say the word "guitar amplifier", the image most people get on the retina is probably a VOX AC-30. Since its introduction in 1958, it has been a symbol of rock'n'roll in all its guises, and despite accelerating development and new technologies, there is still something magical and special about the sound spectrum that an AC-30 has at its disposal. It has thus also been Sir Brian May's faithful companion since he started, and it is also the center of his sound.

Therefore, it is also Brian's way of tuning his AC-30 that has formed the basis for the sound that comes out of the AP-BM. With a combination of VOX's classic virtues and modern technology, we have succeeded in getting very close to Brian's signature sound. This is mainly due to the "Treble Booster" setting, which makes sense as soon as you hear it.

...But it stops far from there!

In addition to the basic sound, there has also been room for a number of backing grooves, such as the iconic "We Will Rock You" clap/stomp, as well as a number of other rhythms that make practice sessions more fun. There are also as many as three effects machines, so you can spice things up with e.g. a tap-tempo "Brighton Rock" stereo delay that also works for tracks like "Now I'm Here". With the Phaser effect you can get eerily close to May's spinning live sound, and the Chorus effect is also adapted to the way May integrates it into her sounds.
