Bigger pads, better feel, smaller size
In general, bigger drums mean better performance - until you realize that your new full-size kit is taking up more space than you have available. The VAD103 is the perfect balance between playability, pad size and compact size. An 18-inch kick drum provides that satisfying 'push' when your foot activates the club, but isn't too deep to fit where space is tight. The 12-inch snare and floor tam pads along with the 10-inch rack tam pad are large enough for an authentic kit feel, but compact enough to fit into smaller rooms. The VH-10 hi-hat mounts on a regular hi-hat stand and gives the acoustic feel the final cut, while dedicated 12-inch crash and 13-inch ride cymbals feel satisfying to play without taking up too much space. Roland's double layer mesh heads were launched in 1997 and quickly became the standard for electronic drums - but not all mesh heads are created equal.
