The ultimate grand piano for entertainment and stage performance
The flagship GP-9 model with extended features for the ultimate piano entertainment experience, including movable keys, professional audio outputs and a microphone input.
The GP-9M gives you Roland's best piano experience, offering refined musical expression in a sophisticated and luxurious instrument that makes a majestic statement in any room. This impressive piano includes the same flagship sound and features as its sister model, the GP-9, but adds movable keys, professional audio outputs and a microphone input so you can sing along through the built-in speaker system. This makes the GP-9M ideal for venues, commercial establishments and homeowners looking for the ultimate showcase for piano entertainment.
Modern Elegance
The GP-9M expresses the characteristic elegance of the piano with flowing curves, solid lines and a striking high-gloss finish. Like an acoustic grand piano, the lid can be opened in various positions to adjust the sound character or closed to create a flat surface when not in use. Smart touch controls in the panel provide intuitive access to important functions as needed. And when you're ready to play, you can turn off their backlight to eliminate distractions and preserve the acoustic aesthetic.
Movable keys
The GP-9M has a function with movable keys for entertainment at home and in commercial places such as restaurants and hotels. Play songs from the piano's extensive built-in library or MIDI files via USB flash media, then watch and listen as the keys magically play themselves. Roland Cloud also offers a growing library of songs that you can access through the Roland Piano App.
Versatile connectivity options
Professional XLR outputs allow the piano to be connected directly to a sound system in a venue or commercial establishment for wider sound coverage and independent control from the built-in speakers. All GP-9M sounds go to the outputs by default, but you can assign the dry piano sound, ambience only or song playback to suit your needs. There's also a dedicated microphone input, so an artist can sing through the GP-9M's sound system without the use of an external preamplifier or audio mixer.
Piano Reality
The GP-9M is built around Roland's advanced Piano Reality approach, a sophisticated ecosystem of connected technologies that includes sound engine, keys, pedals, audio components and speakers. Each section is designed to work together flawlessly and transparently, allowing players to experience the purity of this wonderful instrument with unprecedented expression and realism.
Endlessly inspiring tone
Piano Reality Concert modeling utilizes our latest technologies to recreate every sound-creating element of an acoustic piano, putting the vivid response and complex timbres of a concert-grade grand piano at your fingertips. Modeled ambience is integrated into the sound engine, so you can play in realistic spaces such as an intimate studio, a spacious concert hall or a large cathedral. And with unlimited polyphony, tones and resonances sound in every detail to translate every musical feeling.
Authentic playability from a concert grand piano
The Piano Reality Concert keyboard offers unlimited expression with progressive hammer action, escapement, hybrid wood/shaped key construction with Ivory Feel and advanced acceleration sensor technology to precisely detect the finest nuances in the game. Fine details further elevate the feel, including long key pivot length and haptic vibration that mimics the subtle vibrations of an acoustic piano's body. High-performance sustain, soft and sostenuto pedals complete the authentic experience with weighted feel, damper modeling and support for traditional pedaling techniques.
A sound experience you can immerse yourself in
The GP-9M is equipped with the Piano Reality Concert projection sound system, where multi-channel amplification, premium sound circuitry and advanced sound processing combine to provide the ultimate full-surround piano experience. The cabinet construction, speaker placement and lid angle are all carefully tuned to deliver the same bold and compelling sound presentation as a concert grand in a showroom. And the notes move naturally across the immediate sound field as you play, mirroring the physical string positions on the soundboard of an acoustic grand piano.
Personalize the sound and feel.
GP-9M several world-class grand piano sounds ready to be enjoyed. But if you're an experienced player, you can use the built-in Piano Designer tools to further refine the tone and response to give it your personal touch. Adjust string tuning and temperament, fine-tune keyboard sensitivity and duplex scaling, shape cabinet resonances, and more. Custom settings can be recalled with a single touch, which is a great feature for various pianists playing the GP-9M in a commercial or venue environment.
Easy integration with your wireless world
With built-in Bluetooth, you can use your favorite mobile devices with the GP-9M. Stream songs from your music library through the piano's speaker system to play along with or as background music as you relax or entertain. Or use Bluetooth MIDI with music production apps to compose wirelessly using the GP-9M's responsive weighted keys. There are also USB ports for connecting to computers and flash storage devices, providing more ways to explore your creativity and share musical performances.
Roland Piano App
The Roland Piano App seamlessly extends the GP-9M experience with remote control from your smartphone or tablet. Choose sounds, control the metronome, and use the recording function to evaluate your playing and hear where you need to improve. Browse the piano's built-in songs and a growing selection of songs on Roland Cloud, then download digital scores to learn them at your own pace. And motivate yourself with lesson features that include an activity log with goals, flip card games, rhythm exercises and a One Week Master program that guides you through learning different piano pieces.
Reduced weight, low maintenance
The greatly reduced weight (188.0 kg/414.5 lb.) makes the GP-9M far easier to move than any other acoustic grand piano. It also allows you to use the instrument on temporary stages and in other situations where weight is an issue. And unlike the acoustic grand piano, there is no need for professional tuning or other maintenance after moving the GP-9M.
More digital benefits
The volume control is within easy reach and you can plug in headphones to play anytime without disturbing others. The built-in metronome and simple rhythms help you develop your sense of timing during daily practice. And with Twin Piano mode, you can split the keys into two independent sections and play with a family member, friend or teacher.
