High-End Precision Studio Monitors – S3H
The S3H builds on the success of ADAM Audio's popular studio monitors, the S3A and S3X-H, and like its predecessors, sets new standards in technical innovation and design.
The two 7-inch woofers, driven by a 500W Class D amplifier, reproduce frequencies down to 30Hz with flawless precision. ADAM Audio's newly developed DCH driver, a 4-inch hybrid dome/cone midrange unit, is driven by a 300W Class D amplifier and handles frequencies between 250Hz and 3kHz. Its advanced hybrid design combines the advantages of both cone and dome drivers in one unit. Frequencies above 3kHz are delivered to the hand-crafted S-ART tweeter, combined with a precision HPS waveguide and a 50W Class A/B amplifier. The result is crystal-clear and three-dimensional sound with a generous sweet spot.
The S-Series' custom DSP optimizes the speakers' crossovers and ensures a linear frequency response. It also provides custom EQ and room tuning/voicing capabilities. A unique feature of the S3H's DSP is a built-in EQ preset that emulates the response of the legendary S3A monitor. The DSP also handles tweeter protection via limiter, processes signals from AES3 digital inputs, and offers future expansion options. Software updates are easily performed via the USB port, which also allows for connecting a computer and controlling the speakers' DSP functions.
With its powerful amplification and three-way design (optimized for horizontal use), the S3H acts as an excellent midfield monitor, but can also be used in smaller listening rooms. As always with ADAM Audio, the sound is both punchy and musical, with crystal-clear reproduction of the important midrange.
