Description
Aerophone GO
Explore the inspiring world of wind instruments
Wind instruments can add strong emotions to music, especially in genres such as classical, pop, rock and jazz. The sound of the saxophone, for example, has enchanted music lovers of all ages, and many people would like to be able to play the instrument - but it is not always easy. There are many different types of wind instruments, and it can be difficult to choose one when you love several of them. The sound level of a wind instrument makes it difficult to practice at home, especially at night. And it is also difficult to maintain motivation when your practice time is limited or you cannot find a place to practice. Roland's Aerophone GO is a digital wind instrument that solves all these problems. Firstly, there are 11 expressive instruments built in, including various sax sounds. You can play the instrument anywhere, thanks to battery operation and a built-in speaker. And you can practice at your convenience by plugging in a set of headphones. Connect wirelessly to your smartphone and you can access additional sounds, as well as play along with your favorite songs or start an ensemble performance with up to six friends. If you've always dreamed of playing saxophone or flute, clarinet and many more, Aerophone GO gives you everything you need to start...and develop with.
Find an inspiring sound and your favorite track and start playing
With 11 instruments built in - including soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax - the Aerophone GO lets you explore a multitude of musical genres. But even if saxophone is your instrument of choice, you can also play violin, clarinet or even synth lead, which is fun and very inspiring. Downloading the free Aerophone GO Plus app invites you to explore even more, as you can add 50 extra sounds and customize the built-in settings to suit your personal playing style.
Play anytime-anywhere-anywhere
Aerophone GO is easy to transport, has four rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (AA) that means you can play anywhere. The built-in speaker delivers high-quality sound, regardless of what you play, without the need for external speakers. And with the help of headphones, you can play at any time of the day or night, without disturbing neighbors or family. Just select a sound and set the volume and start playing. Weight of only 695 grams makes the Aerophone Go a great travel companion - and it comes with a soft case.
Smartphone apps make learning your favorite song faster
As a stand-alone instrument, the Aerophone Go has inspiring sounds, mobility and the ability to play with headphones. And when you use Bluetooth® for wireless connection to your smartphone, you get even more exciting options. Aerophone GO Plus is a free app that lets you play along with your favorite songs from your smartphone and offers several ways to learn specific songs, including slowing down the tempo of the song being played and looping part of the song, so you can practice details. Using the app, you get access to a further 50 sounds covering a wide range of music genres, and you can also adjust various function settings on the instrument, including the sensitivity of breathing techniques, the mouthpiece sensor and fingering type customization.

Play together
The Aerophone GO Ensemble app enables up to seven Aerophone GO players to wirelessly perform together. When connected to this free app, each group member can access 19 sounds on the smartphone, and each musician can select a sound. The sound from the group is mixed in the smartphone, and by connecting a small monitor speaker (such as a battery-powered Roland Cube Street EX) everyone can hear and play as an ensemble - perfect for street performances, jam sessions or in a classroom.
*Available for iOS and Android devices
* The 11 built-in sounds on the Aerophone GO are not available when using this app
Supports traditional saxophone fingering and authentic blowing techniques
Aerophone Go is a great choice for anyone wanting to learn a wind instrument, but it's also compatible with traditional saxophone and flute fingering, so seasoned musicians can play with familiar playing techniques. An air-sensitive sensor mounted in the mouthpiece that detects bite and air pressure allows you to play with expressive playing techniques such as vibrato and pitch. Beginners can play the built-in sounds right away, while more experienced musicians can play the Aerophone without having to learn a new fingering system or adapt their existing wind technique.
Get control of the transposition
If you want to play the saxophone, an understanding of transposition is essential. The saxophone is a transposing instrument, which means that the key in which you play it sounds different than what is written in the score. If, for example, a guitarist, pianist and saxophonist want to jam in the key of C, the saxophone must play in the key of A if it is an alto sax or D for a tenor sax. The Aerophone GO's transposition function makes it easier to transpose between what you read, what you play and what you hear.
