The XK-4 features a new sound engine, called the "Modelled Tone Wheel 2 (MTW2)", which accurately reproduces the 91 tone wheels at the heart of all vintage Hammond organs. This new technology allows for the expression of imperfections that give vintage Hammonds their distinctive character, such as pitch fluctuations due to tone wheel play and volume fluctuations due to decentering.
